What were the callsyou missed worth?

Everyone in this category opens with a statistic about how many calls contractors miss. Nobody can say who measured it. So this asks you for three numbers you already know instead, and multiplies them. The starting values are round numbers to move, not a claim about your shop.

calls

Voicemails, rings nobody got to, calls while you were under a house.

$

Your average ticket, not your best one.

%

Your close rate on inbound calls.

What those calls were worth

$4,875

a month, and $58,500 a year

22 missed calls a month at your close rate and your average ticket. Nothing here is an industry figure. It is three numbers you gave us, multiplied.

One Truck is $39 a month. It pays for itself on the first one of those calls.

Stop missing them, $39 a month

Or hear it answer your own number first. No email, no card.

The arithmetic, in the open

There is nothing hidden in the number.

  1. Missed calls a week, times 52 divided by 12. Four weeks a month would quietly lose you three weeks a year, and this number is the whole argument.
  2. Times your close rate, because not every answered call becomes a job and pretending otherwise makes the figure useless.
  3. Times your average ticket, not your best one.

We do not claim you would have won all of them, and we do not claim an AI wins them at the same rate you do on a good day. What it does is answer, which is the step where these calls are currently lost. Our own method for measuring the underlying rate is published at the missed call study, along with the reason we have not published a figure yet.
